  "Cayden Marie is a freelance artist and self-taught muralist based in Hotchkiss, Colorado. She has showcased her work in personal exhibitions and contributed to the local art community through galleries and volunteer work. With a deep interest in geometry and traditional arts, she explores modern techniques to develop her personal style. A graduate of the Paonia Experiential Leadership Academy, Cayden has also studied at the Bemis School of Art and was mentored by professional artist Aloria Weaver.   "When I'm not outside, I enjoy creating art inspired by all the beauty that surrounds us. I dabble in all mediums from acrylics, watercolors, photography, writing and jewelry making. The autograph on my works pays tribute to my maker, hence the gold cross you'll see within my name. I believe we have all been given special gifts and talents to share with the world.  "I started my love of art with a box of crayons and a coloring book. During WW2 paper was not wasted, so I traced the coloring book pictures. I loved the art class (7th grade at Delta Jr High School and Highschool. I went to college at Ottawa University in Kansas. My Dad told me not to waste my money on art class.   However, I still liked all forms of art but didn't spend the money. I went to Wisconsin to work at the American Baptist Assembly. I waited on tables. It was a wonderful place and much fun. More importantly I met George "Fritz" Vinz who also worked there. We were married there the second summer..."

"I am a 4th generation Colorado native and a retired nurse educator living in Cedaredge, for the last 20 years. I was one of the first girls allowed to enroll in wood shop and auto mechanic classes in high school. I make charcuterie boards, cutting boards, cribbage boards, and chess boards from repurposed wood. You will find me at local craft fairs under the name of C-Boards. The smaller chess pieces are made from resin with different shades of sawdust... "
